# DescribeLifecycleHooks

Gets information about the lifecycle hooks for the specified Auto Scaling group.

## Request Parameters
<a name="API_DescribeLifecycleHooks_RequestParameters"></a>

 For information about the parameters that are common to all actions, see [Common Parameters](CommonParameters.md).

 ** AutoScalingGroupName **   
The name of the Auto Scaling group.  
Type: String  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 255.  
Pattern: `[\u0020-\uD7FF\uE000-\uFFFD\uD800\uDC00-\uDBFF\uDFFF\r\n\t]*`   
Required: Yes

 **LifecycleHookNames.member.N**   
The names of one or more lifecycle hooks. If you omit this property, all lifecycle hooks are described.  
Type: Array of strings  
Array Members: Maximum number of 50 items.  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 255.  
Pattern: `[A-Za-z0-9\-_\/]+`   
Required: No

The following element is returned by the service.

 **LifecycleHooks.member.N**   
The lifecycle hooks for the specified group.  
Type: Array of [LifecycleHook](API_LifecycleHook.md) objects
