create_internet_gateway ( $opt )

Creates a new Internet gateway in your AWS account. After creating the Internet gateway, you then attach it to a VPC using AttachInternetGateway. For more information about your VPC and Internet gateway, go to Amazon Virtual Private Cloud User Guide.

Optional

An associative array of parameters that can have the following keys:

  • curlopts - array - Optional - A set of values to pass directly into curl_setopt(), where the key is a pre-defined CURLOPT_* constant.
  • returnCurlHandle - boolean - Optional - A private toggle specifying that the cURL handle be returned rather than actually completing the request. This toggle is useful for manually managed batch requests.

Examples

Create a new internet gateway for a VPC.

Here is the flow:

  1. Create a new VPC with create_vpc() and a CIDR block.
  2. Create a new Route Table with create_route_table().
  3. Create a new Internet Gateway with create_internet_gateway().
  4. Attach the Internet Gateway to the VPC with attach_internet_gateway().
  5. Create a new Route with create_route().
$ec2 = new AmazonEC2();

$response = $ec2->create_internet_gateway();

var_dump($response->isOK());
Result:
bool(true)
