AWS CLI v1 entered maintenance mode on August 5, 2026 and will reach end-of-support on July 15, 2027. During maintenance mode, releases are limited to critical bug fixes and security issues. Description

Commands to interact with the history of AWS CLI commands ran over time. To record the history of AWS CLI commands set cli_history to enabled in the ~/.aws/config file. This can be done by running:

$ aws configure set cli_history enabled
