# Use `CreateRepository` with a CLI

**AWS CLI**  
**To create a repository**  
This example creates a repository and associates it with the user's AWS account.  
Command:

aws codecommit create-repository --repository-name MyDemoRepo --repository-description "My demonstration repository"
```
