# Use `DeleteHostedZone` with a CLI

**AWS CLI**  
**To delete a hosted zone**  
The following `delete-hosted-zone` command deletes the hosted zone with an `id` of `Z36KTIQEXAMPLE`:  

```
aws route53 delete-hosted-zone --id Z36KTIQEXAMPLE
```

```
