Building your custom dashboards from Managed Dashboards - AWS Cost Management

Building your custom dashboards from Managed Dashboards

Although you cannot edit a Managed Dashboard, you can use one to build a custom dashboard that you own, in two ways.

Duplicating a Managed Dashboard

You can duplicate any Managed Dashboard to create an independent custom copy that you fully own. The duplicated dashboard appears with "duplicate" added to the original name, which you can modify. After you duplicate a dashboard, you have full control: add or remove widgets, change time ranges, apply cost allocation tags, adjust dimensions, rearrange the layout, schedule email delivery, and share with other accounts. Changes to the original Managed Dashboard by AWS do not affect your duplicated copy.

To duplicate a Managed Dashboard
  1. Open the Billing and Cost Management console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/costmanagement/.

  2. In the navigation pane, choose Dashboards.

  3. Select the Managed Dashboard you want to duplicate.

  4. Choose Actions, and then choose Duplicate dashboard.

  5. Modify the name and description for your new dashboard.

  6. Choose Duplicate.

Adding widgets from a Managed Dashboard

You can add individual widgets from a Managed Dashboard to your existing custom dashboards without duplicating the entire dashboard. With this option, you can select specific visualizations that are relevant to your reporting needs.

To add a widget from a Managed Dashboard to a custom dashboard
  1. Open the Managed Dashboard containing the widget you want to add.

  2. Open the widget menu (three dots) on the widget you want to copy.

  3. Choose Add to dashboard.

  4. Select the custom dashboard where you want to add the widget, or create a new dashboard.
