# GetPartition

Retrieves information about a specified partition.

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

 ** [CatalogId](#API_GetPartition_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="Glue-GetPartition-request-CatalogId"></a>
The ID of the Data Catalog where the partition in question resides. If none is provided, the AWS account ID is used by default.  
Type: String  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 255.  
Pattern: `[\u0020-\uD7FF\uE000-\uFFFD\uD800\uDC00-\uDBFF\uDFFF\t]*`   
Required: No

The name of the catalog database where the partition resides.  
Type: String  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 255.  
Pattern: `[\u0020-\uD7FF\uE000-\uFFFD\uD800\uDC00-\uDBFF\uDFFF\t]*`   
Required: Yes

The values that define the partition.  
Type: Array of strings  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 1024.  
Required: Yes

 ** [TableName](#API_GetPartition_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="Glue-GetPartition-request-TableName"></a>
The name of the partition's table.  
Type: String  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 255.  
Pattern: `[\u0020-\uD7FF\uE000-\uFFFD\uD800\uDC00-\uDBFF\uDFFF\t]*`   
Required: Yes
