Updates a thing type.

## URI Request Parameters

The request uses the following URI parameters.

 ** [thingTypeName](#API_UpdateThingType_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="iot-UpdateThingType-request-uri-thingTypeName"></a>
The name of a thing type.  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.  
Pattern: `[a-zA-Z0-9:_-]+`   
Required: Yes

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

The ThingTypeProperties contains information about the thing type including: a thing type description, and a list of searchable thing attribute names.
