Upgrade your account in AWS Settings - AWS Account Management

Upgrade your account in AWS Settings

Warning

We're currently releasing our new experience to a limited number of customers. You might not be able to access this experience yet.

When you sign up with Sign up for AWS (new), your accounts are in the Free Tier. In the Free Tier, you receive USD $100 sign up credit and earn up to $100 in additional credits. When you either run out of credits or have an account that is over 6 months, you must upgrade to a Paid Plan. You can also upgrade to a Paid Plan at any time. When you upgrade to a Paid Plan, you have access to the services listed in AWS services included in the Paid Plan of our new AWS experience.

Considerations for upgrading your account

Consider the following when you upgrade to a Paid Plan:

  • You cannot upgrade individual projects. All your projects are upgraded when you upgrade your account.

  • When you upgrade, you will have access to Always Free services and short-term trial offers.

  • You are eligible for other promotional credits and discounts.

  • You must pay for charges that exceed the credit balance.

  • You can create a spend limit to set the most you'll pay per month for a project. For more information, see Create a spend limit in AWS Settings.

  • You cannot designate any projects as HIPAA or SEC compliant.

  • Your account doesn't close when credits are depleted.

  • This does not upgrade you to Sign up for AWS (advanced). None of the features that are only supported for accounts created using Sign up for AWS (advanced) will become available when you upgrade your account. However, you can Activate advanced AWS features for your account.

  • You cannot reverse the upgrade process.
