

# RemoveTagsFromStream
<a name="API_RemoveTagsFromStream"></a>

Removes tags from the specified Kinesis data stream. Removed tags are deleted and cannot be recovered after this operation successfully completes.

**Note**  
When invoking this API, you must use either the `StreamARN` or the `StreamName` parameter, or both. It is recommended that you use the `StreamARN` input parameter when you invoke this API.

If you specify a tag that does not exist, it is ignored.

 [RemoveTagsFromStream](#API_RemoveTagsFromStream) has a limit of five transactions per second per account.

Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 2048.

Not Implemented. Reserved for future use.

Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 24.  
Pattern: `[a-z0-9]{20}-[a-z0-9]{3}`

The name of the stream.

Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.  
Pattern: `[a-zA-Z0-9_.-]+`

A list of tag keys. Each corresponding tag is removed from the stream.  
Type: Array of strings  
Array Members: Minimum number of 1 item. Maximum number of 50 items.  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.  
Required: Yes

## Response Elements

If the action is successful, the service sends back an HTTP 200 response with an empty HTTP body.

The resource is not available for this operation. For successful operation, the resource must be in the `ACTIVE` state.

The requested resource could not be found. The stream might not be specified correctly.
