# EnableKey

The following example shows an AWS CloudTrail log entry for the [EnableKey](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/kms/latest/APIReference/API_EnableKey.html) operation. For information about enabling and disabling AWS KMS keys in AWS KMS, see [Enable and disable keys](enabling-keys.md)..

CloudTrail log entries for this operation recorded on or after December 2022 include the key ARN of the affected KMS key in the `responseElements.keyId` value, even though this operation does not return the key ARN.
