Available Local Zones
The code for a Local Zone is the code of its parent region followed by an identifier for its
location. For example, us-west-2-lax-1a
is in Los Angeles where
us-west-2
is the parent region code and lax-1a
is the location
identifier.

Locations
Find your Local Zones using the AWS CLI
Use the describe-availability-zones command to get a details of the Local Zones available in a specific Region, for your account.
The following example shows how to run the describe-availability-zones
command:
aws ec2 describe-availability-zones \ --region
us-west-2
\ --filters Name=zone-type,Values=local-zone \ --all-availability-zones
