Return values
Ref
When you pass the logical ID of this resource to the intrinsic Ref
function, Ref
returns the location resource Amazon Resource Name (ARN). For
example:
arn:aws:datasync:us-east-2:111222333444:location/loc-07db7abfc326c50s3
For more information about using the Ref
function, see Ref.
Fn::GetAtt
The Fn::GetAtt
intrinsic function returns a value for a specified attribute
of this type. The following are the available attributes and sample return values.
For more information about using the Fn::GetAtt
intrinsic function, see
Fn::GetAtt.
LocationArn
-
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the specified Amazon S3 location.
LocationUri
-
The URI of the specified Amazon S3 location.
Examples
Create an Amazon S3 location for DataSync
The following example specifies an S3 location for DataSync. In this example, the
S3 location uses the bucket specified by the Amazon Resource Name (ARN)
arn:aws:s3:::amzn-s3-demo-bucket
. The access role is
specified by the ARN arn:aws:iam::111222333444:role/amzn-s3-demo-bucket-access-role
. The example uses the S3 Standard
storage class and refers to the subdirectory /MyFolder
.
AWS Security Token Service (AWS STS) must be activated in your account and Region for DataSync to assume the IAM role. For more information about temporary security credentials, see Temporary security credentials in IAM in the IAM User Guide .
