Amazon Kendra API Reference
This API reference includes operations and types for both Amazon Kendra APIs and Amazon Kendra Intelligent Ranking APIs.
Amazon Kendra is an intelligent search service that uses natural language processing and advanced machine learning algorithms to return specific answers to questions using your data.
You must create AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions before you can create an Amazon Kendra/Amazon Kendra Intelligent Ranking resource, such as an index and data source connector. For information about the IAM access control permissions that you need to use this API, see IAM roles for Amazon Kendra in the Amazon Kendra Developer Guide.
Amazon Kendra APIs and Amazon Kendra Intelligent Ranking APIs are designed to be used with language-specific AWS SDKs, such as the Python and Java SDK. You can also use the APIs with the AWS CLI. For information about setting up the CLI and Python SDK, see Setting up Amazon Kendra. For information on how to get started with the CLI, Python SDK, and Java SDK to create an Amazon Kendra index and data source connector, see Getting started with Amazon Kendra.
You must also take note of your Amazon Kendra account region and endpoint when using the APIs. An endpoint is a URL that is the entry point for a web service. Each endpoint is associated with a specific AWS region. For more information, see Amazon Kendra Regions and Endpoints.
