To use Amazon DCV, install the Amazon DCV server software on the server where you intend to host Amazon DCV sessions. Make sure that the software is properly licensed.

The following topics describe how to install and license the Amazon DCV server. The Licensing topic applies to installing on on-premises and on other cloud-based servers only. This is because no license is required to use the Amazon DCV server on an Amazon EC2 instance.
